Glasgow has a lively student population who appreciate a good night out. There are many great and popular student clubs in Glasgow offering student discounts and deals. Even if you aren’t a student and are just looking for a cheap night out, many of these also have universally discounted prices - perfect if you are on a budget. For the best places to go and the best nights out to go on, here's my guide to the best Glasgow student nightspots.
Sugarcube
Sugarcube in the city centre’s Queen Street is one of the most popular Glasgow clubs. It is handily located just down the street from Glasgow Queen Street Station and attracts a young, fashion-conscious crowd. The club has three rooms, each with their own DJ playing different music to suit everyone’s tastes from popular chart to dance. Sugar Saturdays is the club’s busiest mainstream night whilst Tuesdays are the student night Projekt, with drinks from only £1 and £3 concession entry (non-students are £5).

The Flying Duck
Also in the city centre is The Flying Duck on Renfield Street. At night, this basement café bar transforms into a cool but relaxed hangout. The drinks are cheap and can be enjoyed over a board game or a match on a retro Sega Mega Drive. The Flying Duck also hosts regular club nights and pub quizzes. Check their website for a list of upcoming events and set aside the time to visit this home away from home.

The Shed
Over in Glasgow’s Southside is The Shed nightclub in Shawlands. It has two floors - the main room and The Loft - and the atmosphere is friendly with local air (where everybody knows at least half of the room). Thursday is student night with free entry before 11pm. Team that with the £1 drinks and you have a bargain night out. The music in this Glasgow club is a mixture of dance and club classics, with ‘belt-out’ pop and rock classics.

The Sanctuary
Finally, over in the West End is Glasgow nightclub The Sanctuary. This stylish venue offers a night out for those looking for a more opulent experience. The cheapest night to go on is Throwback Thursdays, where drinks start at just £1. The crowd is stylish here, so dress your best. The main selling point of this Glasgow nightspot is its outdoor terrace - a place to relax and grab some fresh air. Visit their website to put yourself on the guest list.
