Glasgow Date Night Hot-Spots

Glasgow Date Night Hot-Spots

Glasgow is a city that is full of couple's hot-spots - places that are perfect for a date-night for both new partners, and those long married. I have plenty of memories to treasure in each of the following places - all of which deliver on the essential romantic atmosphere. So go pick up the phone, call your special someone and tell then you’re taking them out on the town tonight!

Arta

For a relaxing drink, Arta in Merchant City is the most visually stunning venue you will find. An elaborate Mediterranean palace with twinkling lights, Arta uses mood lighting to create that perfect ambiance. The dress code is smart, but their fabulous cocktails are all reasonably priced. New couples can bring their other half here to spoil them, and long-term loves will enjoy the quiet intimacy of the surroundings.

Guy's Restaurant and Bar

For dinner, Guy's Restaurant and Bar on the adjoining street, is a beautiful candlelit option. It has very much a ‘New York City bistro’ vibe crossed with the intimacy of a Paris restaurant. The food is modern and experimental with flavour. It tastes and is presented like that of a Michelin-starred establishment, but the prices are much more friendly to your wallet. The menu itself is vast - even the fussiest of eaters will find something to enjoy here. On Thursdays and Saturdays, a live pianist and classical singer will entertain you with gentle and romantic tunes.

Blythswood Square Hotel

Across the city is the five-star Blythswood Square Hotel, which contains a private cinema screening room. They have a calendar of film evenings throughout the year, and its a nice change from your bog-standard multiplex. Another plus is that there will be no children or popcorn-munching to annoy you. The £30 per person price includes Prosecco and canapes (evening) or afternoon tea (day). It usually screens old classics, so it is the opportunity to see films that you can't see anywhere else.

Alea Glasgow Casino

Should you want more excitement, you can head to the sparkling riverside Alea Glasgow Casino and add some risk to your night. This ultra-glamorous venue has all the casino gambling tables you would expect, with all of the stakes. On a date-night here, you will definitely have lots to talk and laugh about.
