Explore The Glasgow Style Mile

The most stylish things to do in Glasgow are within what’s known as the ‘style mile’- an area that stretches from Buchanan Street to Glasgow’s Merchant City. Here you’ll find the majority of the designer fashion stores in Glasgow, the best restaurants and some exquisite architecture to explore as you wander around. You can easily spend an entire day exploring here - but make sure your wallet is full as you’re going to need it! Most places are luxurious and with that, comes high prices.

Glasgow Style Mile

One of the most beautiful places to shop is Princes Square (read more about Prince's Square in Shopping Fit for a Prince (or Princess!)) on Buchanan Street. The design is stunning and the atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated. Glasgow’s only branch of Vivienne Westwood is here, along with luxury jewellers Dower & Hall. A short stroll away is Ingram Street in Glasgow’s Merchant City, which is home to designer fashion boutique Cruise. Cruise stocks some of the world’s most renowned (and expensive) clothes and accessory brands. There is also Mulberry, Agent Provocateur, Ralph Lauren and a host of other luxury stores on this famed street.

After all that retail therapy, there are some excellent restaurants in Glasgow’s Style Mile to get a bite to eat. The Grill Room at the Square overlooks the stunning Royal Exchange Square (which at night has a ceiling of twinkling fairy lights) and serves some of the best steak in the city. There’s also celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s restaurant on George Square for some great quality Italian comfort food.

If you are in the mood for a pamper session, the Aveda day spa James Dun’s House on Hanover Street will cater for all your hair and beauty needs. They have some great permanent offers including their £25 Style Menu, where you can choose from a selection of elaborate hair styles that the stylists will recreate for you in just 30 minutes. For a manicure, you must visit the Royal Exchange Square branch of Rainbow Room International. They use the impressive Jessica range of nail polishes that will make your new nails last.

If you want to experience some luxury and treat yourself, Glasgow’s Style Mile is where to go. It’s Glasgow city centre’s most well-maintained and safest area, so you are sure to be in for an enjoyable day. To find out about any retail or restaurant offers happening during your visit, you should download the official Style Mile app and raid your piggy bank for your next expedition!
