In the elegant surrounds of this city centre restaurant, pairs can savour the tempting flavours of a five-course taster meal (usually £49.50 per person). It will feature indulgent bites of baked waterloo cheese with truffle crust, sautéed foie gras, and roasted fillet of halibut with celeriac and a seaweed butter sauce. Slow-cooked duck with savoy cabbage and a port jus rounds off the savoury selection, before jelly and ice cream is served in flavours of yuzu, coconut, melon and more. Prosecco will provide a sparkling accompaniment to the meal, with either a single glass (£6) each or bottle to share (£28) available.

In the atmospheric surrounds of Leadenhall Market, the family-owned Chamberlain’s Restaurant serves up UK-sourced dishes in a variety of cuisines. Seafood is sourced from Chamberlain and Thelwell, who boast over 60 years’ experience supplying London’s top hotels and institutions, and is from sustainable stock. The same principles apply to the sourcing of their meat and other produce, and all are used for a seasonal menu which blends contemporary and traditional flavours. Led by Executive Chef Andrew Jones, a winner of the Roux Scholarship, the kitchen combines Italian, French and British cuisine for a diverse array of dishes, and meals can be served with wine chosen from a host of Mediterranean drops. The plush interior is suitable for all types of occasions, from intimate dinners to large gatherings, and features two floors and a mezzanine. Guests can enjoy views across the market from the first floor, relax amid authentic brickwork in the brasserie, and enjoy the fresh air on the terrace. The restaurant stays open seven days a week from midday.
