Greenwich Music Time presents a series of four outdoor concerts, running over the Bank Holiday weekend from 20 to 23 August. Against the backdrop of the historic double domed buildings of the Old Royal Naval College, the Australian Pink Floyd Show get the shows underway. Originally formed in Adelaide in 1988, the band aim to provide a gig that mimics the look and sound of the legendary band playing live. Electropop duo Goldfrapp follow, with what is billed as their only London show of 2014, with a set drawing tracks from their extensive back catalogue along with 2013’s Tales of Us. Russell Watson and the 32-piece Royal Philharmonic Orchestra present the first Proms on the Thames on 22 August, featuring special guests Rhydian and Kerry Ellis in a show that promises a blend of classical music, musical tunes and time-tested standards. Finally, Jools Holland with his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra closes the series with guests Melanie C and Marc Almond. Originally formed in 1987, the musician and TV personality’s big band grew and evolved into the current 20-piece lineup, producing numerous releases on the way.
