Drivers can jump onto the Tockwith Motorsports skid pan, a slippery circle ideal for simulating precarious driving conditions such as extreme weather and treacherous sharp bends. Under expert instruction, students will have an in-car briefing lasting five to ten minutes, during which they will learn more about the rotten tricks of the road that can lead to loss of car control. This will be followed by a 20-minute practice under the instructor’s eye.

About Tockwith Motorsports

Tockwith Motorsports features a race car circuit and a kart track, along with a skid pan which simulates hazardous road conditions. It’s home to the Tockwith racing team, including Sarah Moore, who was nominated for the 2009 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and Nigel Moore, who was the Youngest British driver to do Le Mans 24 hour in LMP1 category. The driving centre was set up in 1970 as a training centre for under 17s. They now boast a range of facilities, including various circuits for everything from karts to dual-control cars and trucks. Experiences such as race car driving, corporate days and stag and hen dos are also up for grabs.
