The Deal

Two or four golfers can swing their way through the 18 holes of this fine 6601-yard parkland course (usually £25 on weekdays, £29 on weekends). Players are required to pit their wits against a series of testing holes – particularly the ninth, where a moat of water protects the green and waits in eager anticipation of any stray shots. Those wishing to make a day of it can opt to play multiple rounds on the par-71 course.

The Merchant

Immersed in 250 acres of countryside, The Kent and Surrey Golf Club is full of character, presenting golfers with a challenging par-71 course that features an array of signature holes. The course straddles county boundaries, uniquely encompassing holes with tees in Kent and greens in Surrey. A floodlit driving range and a practice putting green are also on site, as are seasoned PGA coaches. The spacious club house fuels an active social scene, with the club's Sunday carvery providing a particular favourite.
