North Clifton's Pure Land Meditation Centre and Japanese Garden, just minutes from the River Trent, has been influenced by the experience of Zen monks and Maitreya Koji Takeuchi to turn two acres of flat field into a hilly rock garden, characterised by features, flora and fauna such as bamboo, carp, evergreens and stone lanterns. In addition to a peaceful Zen garden, the centre offers individual and group tuition on meditation, 'Nature's Heart' concerts featuring songs and haikus, and Japanese tea ceremonies.
