The Big Day

Couples can choose to host the whole day at Shottle Hall, or just the reception. If required, the ceremony room or garden pavilion can be the setting for the exchanging of vows, before guests are treated to a glass of bubbly to get the celebrations started. Everyone can then settle down to a three-course dinner in the marquee, feasting on soup to start, followed by sausage and mash or a chicken breast, with profiteroles or apple flan to finish. The meal will be accompanied by wine and a glass of fizz to toast the speeches. Revelry can continue into the evening with use of the chessboard-style dance floor, and the arrival of another 50 guests plus a buffet of bacon rolls and potato wedges if desired. The marquee benefits from internal washroom facilities and a separate bar.

The Merchant

Nestled in landscaped gardens and 14 acres of parkland Shottle Hall is Victorian country house turned events venue with accommodation. The building houses the Orangery restaurant with starlit ceiling, full length windows and baby Grand Piano, while the gardens play host to the coach house marquee, also with starlit ceiling. Accommodation comes in the form of eight individually-designed bedrooms, all traditionally furnished and possessing some period features. The venue also offers vintage afternoon tea and Mother’s Day lunch, as well as charity balls, school proms, naming ceremonies and christenings. Corporate events include conferences, meetings, team building, coaching and training courses.
