The Tipis

Offering views to the Black Mountains and on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, The Hollybush Inn makes for an ideal starting base to explore the likes of the River Wye and the rolling hills and picturesque footpaths ambling towards Hay-on-Wye.

• Bordered on two sides by the Pany y Angel stream, the campsite aims to bring fuss-free accommodation in the form of Native American-style tipis, accommodating up to ten campers among the woodland, while chimineas keep away the evening chills

• The adjoining inn is a rustic retreat decked out in a quaint and homely style. The restaurant menu features locally sourced cuisine alongside a selection of local real ales, while weekends in the bar are accompanied by live music on occasion

• Making the most of the river running at its feet, the campsite and inn gets clients out and about with canoe hire and picnic packages. Pairs can choose between a one-person kayak each, or can share a two-person kayak or an open-top Canadian canoe. Guests are launched into the river at the banks by the Hollybush Inn and can then make the three-mile trip to Hay-on-Wye, or paddle slightly further to Whitney-on-Wye, around eight miles away
