Based in the British Museum, the Great Court Restaurant offers refined dining experiences to patrons. An open-plan kitchen showcases chefs at work, and the menu is filled with seasonal cuisine as well as charcuterie and cheeses. The restaurant prides itself on an exclusive exhibition-inspired menu which also offers a selection of desserts and traditional afternoon teas, with a varied wine list from across the world.
In order to expand on customer numbers and create awareness for the new services planned for launch, the Great Court Restaurant tried various advertising channels. It soon found that luck was running out, and no matter what method it used, nothing could get the coverage it needed to hit its targets.
Partnering with Groupon has enabled the restaurant to get its name out into the right audience and boost customer numbers. On a typical mid-week afternoon tea sitting, 25% of bookings are Groupon customers. It describes customer feedback as a “triumphant success”, with many comments about how great restaurant service is and how welcome Groupon customers feel. In addition, using Merchant Center has made campaign tracking a breeze, and the restaurant looks forward to launching its new pizzeria, masterclasses, and pre-theatre menu in partnership with Groupon.
