NAF! Salon: Glasgow’s Quirky New Nail Salon

There is no better definition of the phrase #GirlBoss than NAF! Salon founder Tammy Koslowski. This Glasgow lady set up her first, and still very successful, business DIY Nails; selling uniquely designed nail decals to jazz up manicures. The beauty world love the brand, and it sells on the likes of the ASOS site.

She has a perfect Glasgow location for her newest venture- nail salon NAF! Salon is right in the middle of the city centre, across the road from Central Station. Inside, the space is quiet and relaxed, but also beautifully styled within an inch of its life, into a pink and neon ‘80s girly wonderland.

Stay Sassy!

Tammy is definitely a girl’s girl, and so she wants clients to come to NAF! Salon for a good chat, to watch TV from the comfy sofa, eat lollipops and get pampered. Inspirational quotes adorn the walls everywhere, and the focal point of the salon is a large pink illuminated sign reminding visitors to always ‘remain sassy’.

She has big plans for the salon and hopes to run masterclasses there, plus continue to offer more beauty treatments. At the moment, in addition to her nail services, they have the likes of henna tattoos and makeup makeovers on selected days. I visited for a preview prior to their opening day. A gel manicure with nail art and/or glitter (I had both) takes around an hour and a half to complete. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, with great tunes playing and lots of laughter- an instant mood uplifter.

Lasting Results

Two weeks later, my manicure is still chip-free and is just as shiny as when I left the salon. I’ve booked in again this week to have the gel polish removed and re-done though, as my nails have grown so much that there are large gaps between my cuticles and where the polish begins.

They offer a huge range of gel nail polish colours (as well as regular nail polishes for standard manicures) and have a large selection of loose glitters and DIY Nails decals to make your manicure more interesting. I am a bit obsessed with the colourful sprinkle-topped doughnut ones.

Nail Retail

Glasgow’s NAF! Salon also has a great retail section. They obviously have the full DIY Nails decal collection available, but they also stock other cult beauty items such as the famous Seche Vite clear nail top coat and the popular Makeup Eraser cloths.I can see NAF! Salon quickly becoming the place to be seen in Glasgow. If you don’t want your fingernails done, you could always treat your toes to a luxury pedicure.
