Built in 1590 by Richard Smalbroke, a member of one of Birmingham's leading merchant families back in his day, Blakesley Hall is a timber-framed house standing out amid modern houses that surround it. Furnished with 17th-century inventory to reflect the lifestyle of a well off family of the late Tudor and Stuart period, the house aims to attract historians and leisure seekers alike. A traditional herb garden and orchard hosting butterflies and birds is also there, just as tearooms inviting guests to recharge their batteries.
