Firstly, when we arrived they had no record of our booking, and told us to take a seat whilst they phoned the manager. 10 minutes later, sat on dirty seats and a sticky table, they found our booking. No apology was given.  We then waited a further 20 minutes for them to eventually take our order. 30 minutes later, 50 minutes since we first arrived, we were eventually given our food followed by our first “bottomless” drink. We were not given any side plates to eat our food, nor any cutlery or napkins. After asking for cutlery, it arrived the cutlery dirty, and only one knife was given between the two of us. They gave us one dipping sauce for our pancakes, and when I asked for another one, she explained we shouldn’t have received one at all, then proceeded to bring over the card machine to pay for another one! The sandwiches were clearly from the Tesco around the corner. It was an experience to say the least, and although “bottomless hot drinks” was promoted, after waiting 50 minutes for our first drink and not being able to find any staff to ask for another, we decided it would be best not to wait for another as we had the last train to catch a few hours later. We have visited the little desert shop for afternoon tea last year and were very pleased with the service and food provided. They would have to pay me to return again! Appalling service and experience!

We arrived and the lady told us she didn’t have our booking. However after speaking to the manager on the phone they realised they did have it. But because they wasn’t ready she didn’t have any ingredients. So instead she shut the shop and got security to stand by her till whilst she popped to Tesco next door to get the food. We told her not to serve us that as a customers point of view we paid to have food from this establishment and not Tesco. What happens behind the scenes is up to them but now knowing it was from Tesco it would have been easier to get a meal deal! The seats are filthy and the lady who serves is the same one that makes the food, cleans up and wipes her hand across her nose whilst preparing the food. As she scanned our voucher it looks like we used it but it was a wasted journey into the city centre. Now waiting for Groupon to refund us. Appalling.
