Needed to contact hotel to check date was available for special birthday, phoned but no answer but aware that work is on going at moment in spa to update, sent email and Hannah reply quickly the next day confirming dates where ok, so purchased Groupon and sent another email with details and spa dates booked.
Wonderful customer service from Hannah and so grateful for all the information
Great value have booked another one
Great friendly staff, amazing massage and nice steam and sauner.. the afternoon tea was tasty too! Will definitely be back
Excellent staff
Our treatment with Hanna was fabulous. She is amazing. The Spa is a little tired… could have done with a water machine in the pool/sauna/steam area. We upgraded to full afternoon tea which was good. I’d say value for money. The Spa is due to be refurbished so we will be back then.
The staff were lovely and welcoming, the treatments were really good, the food was great, the hotel was beautiful.
However, the pool and sauna and steam room were dated and degraded but we appreciate it is soon to be refurbished
Great value! The staff were exceptional and myself and daughter had a fantastic massage and facial. Building is a little dated but historical
My friends and I arrived for spa day and crème tea. This was a gift for my friend’s birthday following a deal I found on Groupon. There had been a few bumps getting to the day, but was able to work with Hannah to resolve positively.
I had been here before for spa day, however this visit unfortunately did not meet my expectations.
Arrived and was greeted by the friendly team lead by Hannah. Completed our forms, selected our treatments, collected our vouchers, and then went off for our crème tea package (upgraded to an afternoon tea).
Came back up to the treatment rooms and my back treatments started, unfortunately within about 15 minutes, the relaxing spa atmosphere was ruined midway through by the banging sound of dead lifted weights being dropped in the gym below and so reverberating through the floor and the massage table. Then to top things off pumping techno music started. When I questioned the therapist, she guessed that it might be a fitness class. Unfortunately both of these were not conducive to, and in significant contrast to the usual spa style pan pipes.
The pool, sauna and steam room, are open to the general public, so not as relaxing as you may hope when there are families with excited children.
I will note that as a result of the above I ended up a tad disappointed visit and when the above was flagged apologies were offered and feedback taken.
For Info - The treatment room which I was in (above the gym) was, as you face the reception desk, the ones to the right.
This was a 50th birthday present for my sister, on arrival up lots of stairs we were greeted by a friendly member of staff, given forms to complete and advised what time our treatments were. Then told the leisure facilities were down more steps, both of us have fibromyalgia and struggle with stairs, then we found the pool was open to members of the public who came in with very noisy children jumping in and out the pool, there was no quiet area to go and get some peace, in the end we went back up to the changing room, after our treatments we went downstairs to have our afternoon tea, we waiting at the restaurant desk for twenty minutes before someone finally came and told us to sit in the conservatory where we struggled to find a clear table, another 20 minutes and we were asked if we wanted tea or coffee, 30 minutes further we finally got a drink with a further wait for our scones and prosecco, we were going to sit in the bar after and have a glass of wine, but the service was for too slow and it was not busy, we will not be going again
