About National Coal Mining Museum
Situated in the old Caphouse Colliery in Overton, the National Coal Mining Museum offers a glimpse into England's industrial past. Miners guide visitors on underground tours, educating them about the changes in coal mining throughout history. In addition to visiting the mine, the Museum features plenty of other attractions, such as a playground for children, a cafe, the Nature Trail, Miners' Memorial Garden or Hope Pit - a restored colliery dedicated to explaining the science behind coal mining.
