We had an amazing day at the spa. We all had massages and are super relaxed. The staff were very friendly and the pool, saunas and relaxation room were so nice. Very much recommended this offer.
Firstly, I would say that my overall low score is not in relation to the staff at all - everyone we came across were unfailingly friendly, polite and helpful. Unfortunately, the rest of the ‘spa experience’ was a real disappointment. The interior is tired and quite run-down in places (although the steam room area is still fine) and the towels and robes we used were hard and very well worn. The aromatherapy bath was ok, although it was simply half an hour in a warm tub with a handful of bath salts which I would hardly call a’treatment.’ However, despite all this, it still would have been a relatively pleasant and peaceful way to spend a cold February afternoon had it not been for the considerable number of young children in the pool, splashing around, jumping in and, bless them, generally disrupting any hope of the expected serene spa experience! Although the price was discounted through Groupon we still paid nearly £30 a head for the kind of ‘experience’ we could have at most public swimming pools that have a poolside steam room and sauna at the poolside!
The signs to get to the spa weren’t very clear, the mud chamber didn’t seem to last very long, the aroma rooms were extremely uncomfortable with lots of the mosaic tiles missing, the reception staff were pretty unhelpful, the swimming pool was very small and overcrowded, there was only 4 beds to lay on by the pool and 3 tables with 4 chairs each which were all being used, so lack of places to sit. When a lounger became available the cover was soaking wet and unpleasant. Not a great day if I’m honest
