Located in Hockley, Curious Tavern stands adjacent to The Mercure Hotel. The dimly lit inside welcomes guests with an eerie ambience, created by low lighting, wooden floors and decorative, dark ceiling tiles. The unsettling art of humanoid creatures with heads of wood-animals adds to the atmosphere, together with old-fashioned patterns and lamps appearing in the dining room. Customers can choose to sit at one of the wooden tables or in a dark leather booth to peruse the rich menu and have their meal. The kitchen serves a range of British classics and winter warmers, as well as a selection of pizzas, sandwiches and salads. Meals can be finished with a sweet treat or complemented by a choice of spirit, including wine, gin and mixed cocktails. Every Sunday, the tavern offers a Sunday roast dinner too.
