What to Expect

• Top Rock is a brand-new type of indoor clip and climb that’s fun and thrilling in equal measure. There are 20 routes to take on that vary in difficulty in an environment that’s full of color, shapes, and new experiences.

• Auto belay climbing is a challenging activity designed to open up climbing to the general public. It's a good family activity, all routes use an auto-belay, meaning climbers just need to harness up, clip-on, and climb. Once guests had enough of one route, you can simply unclip and move to a different route to be clipped on again. All climbers are double-clipped, one of which has a security lock that can only be unlocked by trained rescuers or individuals ensuring a secure visit.

• Ideal for climbers of all ages and abilities, Top Rock is ideal as a family activity, as a birthday party activity, or as an alternative way to stay active either by yourself or with friends and family. In fact, trying your hand at Top Rock is a great way to meet new people.

• Top Rock sessions will last 60 minutes which includes check-in, briefing, harnessing, and climbing. Please arrive promptly at the start time shown on the booking. Under 18’s must have a climbing registration form completed by an adult prior to taking part. Climbers must be 4+ years old to take part in this activity.

Alton Sports Centre

• Alton Sports Centre has a large, well-equipped gym, 25-metre main pool, teaching pool and diving pool, as well as a huge range of group exercise classes to choose from, they’ve got all the traditional bases covered.
• Guests can also take advantage of our astroturf football pitches, while the climbers among you can also have a go on the indoor wall, while parents can also make use of the creche, or let their kids run wild in the soft play area.

Good to Know

• Climbers must be at least 4 years of age.
• People under eight years old must be supervised by an adult over the age of 18.
• Maximum climbing weight is 120 kg.
• Loose clothing and hats are not to be worn when climbing as well as no heels, flip flops, or open-toed shoes.
• Safety equipment included.
• Led by qualified coaches.
• Safety briefing will be required at the beginning of the activity.
• Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your activity start time.
• All participants are required to sign a disclaimer agreeing to the terms and conditions before they can begin climbing in the arena. The signature of a parent or guardian is required for any participants under the age of 18 years of age.
