• Common name: cruel plant
• Catches moths and butterflies in its flowers
• Semi- evergreen
• Very fragrant
• Vigorous growth
• Free flowering from summer into autumn
• In July it becomes laden with fragrant trumpet-shaped blooms which erupt into a flurry of colour which continues into October when the weather is pleasant
• After flowering seedpods begin to swell
• Plant in sunny, sheltered spot where it can twine around a support
• Can grow up to 3m each year
• Hardy to 0°C
• Frost-tender - wrap it in fleece or bring it inside to overwinter
• Expected height and spread: 3m+
• Supplied in 8cm pots
