Traditionally native to sub-saharan Africa, a variety of predatory birds will be beating their wings over the rural British heartland of Bedfordshire. During the three-hour bird of prey experience, visitors will be introduced to a milky eagle owl as well as various hawks and vultures. They’ll fly the African fish eagle, known as the ‘Voice of Africa’, as well as the brightly-coloured bateleur eagle. A lanner falcon flying display will show the large raptor swooping and dipping overhead. Hungry horticulturists can dive onto a sandwich with tea or coffee, and with the meet-and-greet over, enjoy unlimited access to the centre for the day.

##The Merchant Birds of Prey Centre is home to over 200 feathered species, including owls, hawks, eagles and falcons. Visits can range from flying and handling experiences at the centre led by a falconer, to archery and laser clay shooting. Regular events also take place throughout the year, such as photography days where visitors can get up close and personal with hawks and capture photographers of them hunting.

Visitors were keen to praise the enthusiastic staff as well as the informative experiences, displays and courses.
