• With over 40 colourful gardens across our 30 acre estate, there is plenty to see and do at Capel Manor Gardens. You can visit our Gardens throughout the year enjoying the beauty and colour that each season offers.

Historical gardens include: 

• Holly Maze - designed and created by Adrian Fisher, the worlds most prolific maze designer; enjoy twists and turns along the way as you find the right path to the viewing platform for amazing views

• Fairy Forest - An enchanted walk in our woodland area filled with spring bulbs.

• Old Manor House Garden - This beautiful recreation displays the history of the estate.

• 17th Century Gardens - A set of traditional gardens including the traditional Walled Garden, that are a beautiful highlight on our estate.

• Temple Lake - Take a stroll around the lake to spot the Koi Carp living within.

• A variety of themed gardens including the Japanese Garden, Garden of Exaggerated Beauty and Queen Mother Garden.

Come along to our mini zoo to see Capel Manor's collection of exotic and domestic animals. You will encounter:

• Meerkats - A group of meerkats are known as a mob, and hierarchy is determined through daily life, opportunity, strength and maturity.

• Ring-tailed lemur - Lemurs are primates found only on the African island of Madagascar and some tiny neighbouring islands, home to many amazing animals.

• Scottish wildcat - The Scottish wildcat is the only complimentary-living native forest cat in the UK, sharing a history with the European wildcat.

• Bennett's wallaby - Bennetts wallaby, also known as the red-necked wallaby, are native to Eastern Australia and are easily identified by their movement.

• African crested porcupine - The African crested porcupine is the largest of its species and the third largest rodent in the world. They are nocturnal animals.

• Prevosts squirrel - We house a pair of breeding Asian tri-coloured Prevosts squirrels. The genus name callosciurus means beautiful squirrel.

• White-faced saki monkey - a New World monkey found in rainforests throughout the northeast region of South America in northern Brazil, French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana, and Venezuela.

Further afield on the estate look out for our Shetland ponies, alpacas and rare breed sheep grazing in the fields by the Manor House.
