The Deal

Guests can get acquainted with the world's closest thing to living dinosaurs at the UK's only crocodile zoo. Home to more than 100 crocodiles from 14 different species, the centre also accommodates a Northern caiman lizard, Alligator snapping turtle and African spurred tortoise, among other scaly critters. Daily feeding times are displayed within the centre to give visitors an opportunity to witness the jaw-snapping power of the animals in action, and there are also regular handling opportunities.

The Merchant

Focusing on encouraging more crocodile research and conservation across the globe, Crocodiles of the World was established in 2011 to help educate people about the reptiles through engaging experiences. The only crocodile zoo in the UK, the centre was founded by Shaun Foggett who appeared on Channel 5's Croc Man. Keeper experiences, birthday parties and educational outreach visits are all available, and the venue is open seven days a week.

Crocodiles of the World has snapped up a 4.5/5 star rating on TripAdvisor, earning a Certificate of Excellence for 2014. Though some visitors found the centre quite small, most agreed it was an exciting way to spend a few hours, praising the opportunities for kids to get up close and personal with the animals and the staff's eagerness to answer questions. Elsewhere, the centre has picked up a strong social-media following, with over 8700 likes on Facebook, more than 2000 followers on Twitter and over 2000 YouTube views.
