Afternoon tea taken at Flemings Mayfair Hotel consists of a selection of specialty loose leaf teas and a variety of freshly made sandwiches with fillings such as smoked salmon and cream cheese, egg mayonnaise, cucumber and cream cheese and ham and English mustard. Tea and sandwiches are accompanied by a selection of plain and fruit scones served with clotted cream, strawberry jam and lemon curd, as well as the chef’s selection of petit fours.

Alternatively, this traditional British pastime can be given a twist with chocolate and Champagne. A glass of Jacquart pink Champagne is followed by a choice of chocolate or caramel tea. Sandwiches are then followed by chocolate scones with clotted cream and the chef’s selection of chocolate petit fours.

The Merchant

Widely regarded as one of London’s most distinguished hotels, the four-star deluxe Flemings Mayfair Hotel is family owned and first opened its doors in 1851. Situated about two minutes’ walk from Green Park Underground station, the boutique-style establishment is converted from twelve Georgian townhouses. It now has 129 individually designed luxury rooms, suites and apartments, a complimentary gym for guests, and a seven-bedroom townhouse complete with services courtesy of the Flemings staff. Located just off Piccadilly Circus, the hotel is also home to The Grill restaurant, an AA Rosette-awarded establishment that allows diners to socialise in an ambient setting for dinner.
