The Events
- The Warbrook Mysteries Part 1 - 28 Jan 2017: The first case is set in 1745. Willougby Stiles, the first master of Warbrook is in dire straits. The family printing business has failed and Warbrook may have to be sold to cover his debts. Lord Eversley, a local landowner, has arranged a game of cards which could be Stiles’ only hope … if only he can win a large bet. When Eversley is found dead hopes fade, but a mysterious note found on his body may turn the tables … or unmask his killer!
- A Date with Death - 11 Feb 2017: You join us for the pilot of The Dating Game, a new quiz show which the producers hope will turn into a highly successful television show. Simon Trowell, a successful producer is due to visit to assess the format, and the ambitious writer behind the show wants everything to go to plan. When one of the contestants is found murdered the evening soon turns into a disaster. Can you help DI Catchem to find the killer?
- A Meeting of Spies - 24 Feb 2017: Warbrook House has been chosen as a safe location for the 2017 Spy of The Year Award. The Double O section is present, along with WD40 – an agent visiting on a friendly exchange from Russia. In the absence of M Pocketmoney, his loyal secretary, calls the room to order. Suddenly DI Catchem arrives with worrying news from London. Can you help to catch a killer and avert an international incident?
- Nirvana Holidays - 10 Mar 2017: Nirvana Holidays are at Warbrook House promoting their latest timeshare development. The owner, Ronnie Latham, and his wife Dolly are there to promote ownership. A dodgy manager and an unhappy former client are also present, and the presentation soon descends into chaos as a visiting salesman is murdered in the room. DI Catchem arrives hoping, with your help, to solve a complicated case.
- The Warbrook Mysteries Part 2 - 31 Mar 2017: The year is 1840 and Octavius Finck, a politician and man of influence, has acquired the house as a county retreat. Finck has ambitious plans to enlarge the estate. Unfortunately this will mean the removal of several tenants and none of them are particularly keen to move on. One of the farmers has important information which will change everything, and when his body is found foul play is suspected.
- Who Killed the Easter Bunny? - 21 Apr 2017: Reverend Pugh has organised an Easter Treasure Hunt, and one of the locals has volunteered to play the role of The Easter Bunny. Unfortunately the bunny is found dead, and when his costume is removed a completely different person is inside. Is this a case of mistaken identity, or is some other mystery afoot?
- Clue D’Oh! - 5 May 2017: A country house party and a plot based on the traditional board game. Dr Black is a renowned lepidopterist (that’s butterflies). His lives with his niece, Rayne Bowe, who is being wooed by the dashing Captain Brown. Revered Green is visiting, to discuss the church roof fund, and housekeeper and cook Mrs White is keeping an eye on everyone from below stairs. One of them is murdered, but will it be in the library with a lead pipe?
- Little House of Horrors - 26 May 2017: Film producer, Rod Ducer, has had a hit in America with his new film, Little House of Horrors. It’s a cross between a horror film and 50 Shades of Grey, and now he’s bringing it to the UK for a tour. His wife, a fading actress, and his latest discovery, a somewhat younger actress, are with him and fighting like a pair of cats. An Italian American investor is also there, worried about revelations in a forthcoming book. When a writer turns up claiming that his script has been stolen a lot of people seem to want the Producer dead.
- The Warbrook Mysteries Part 3 - 16 Jun 2017: It’s the roaring 20s and Warbrook House is enjoying a time of entertainment and big parties. Tonight is no exception and the current owner, a flamboyant American, is throwing a party for the great and good of the area. No-one knows who Trey Flatsby is, or how he acquired his considerable wealth. Some come to admire him, others out of curiosity, and others through jealousy. However, some have come because they want to see Flatsby dead.
- Blue Majesty - 30 Jun 2017: A diamond mine in Botswana has unearthed a record breaking diamond. Over 3,000 carats will yield over 1,000 diamonds, ranging from half a carat to a whopper of 300 carats – Blue Majesty. A representative from the diamond mine is visited to examine a share certificate which accounts for just one share in the mine – one share that could be worth a fortune. However, a body has been found in the local lake and DI Catchem arrives to investigate. What can the connection be?
- The Vicar’s Tea Party - 8 Sep 2017: Well, the church roof isn’t fixing itself and the power of prayer has its limitations, so Reverend Green has decided to organise a tea party fundraiser for the residents of Littleton. The village busy body is there, as is the Lord of The Manor. The publican’s wife is a keen baker who came second in the village bakeoff and has a chip on her shoulder. So, when the winner is murdered all eyes fall on here, but there is always a tangled web in these small communities, and it soon emerges that everyone has a motive.
- Murder at the Ballot Box - 29 Sep 2017: Meet your local MP and some of the other parties seeking your vote. The event is sponsored by a secretive consultancy firm who are working on a contract to supply the government worth billions. The Green Party are present campaigning against a plan to build an Eversley bypass through a nature reserve. Has someone taken a backhander from a local construction company? When an MP is found murdered with a highly unusual weapon DI Catchem has a case of political intrigue on his hands.
- The Warbrook Mysteries Part 4 - 13 Oct 2017: Friday 13th – unlucky for some. It’s the 1970s and the current owner of Warbook has problems mounting up. His wife is leaving him and he has business problems in London. It is essential that he protects his hotel, but his wife has invited a potential buyer to view it. In desperation he has asked for help from a Business Organisation that is based in the East End of London and usually works with publicans. How will they all get on?
- The Mummy Awakes! - 27 Oct 2017: It’s Halloween, and a Mummy appears to be on the loose in the grounds of Warbrook House. The year is 1922 and Sir Seymour Crypts is back from Egypt, having discovered the resting place of Prince Huff (Tutt’s brother). Guests will hear a fascinating description of the moment the tomb was discovered before learning that the sarcophagus has been found opened at Southampton Docks with their necks broken. When a body is found in the grounds of the hotel, also with its neck broken, it seems that the mummy is on its way to the party!
- Murder at The Casino - 10 Nov 2017: It’s casino night at Warbrook. A famous poker player is in town, and he has been winning big! Jack ‘Black Jack’ O’Reilly has been on a winning streak since the world number one died in a freak accident at a Vegas casino. Now he is top of the game and taking the opportunity to tour the UK. When a young lady is found dead in a bedroom at Warbrook and there’s a link with the dead number one player DI Catchem has a hunch that he needs to join the party and question Black Jack.
- A Christmas Carol - Who Killed Jacob Marley? - 25 Nov 2017: Head back with us to Victorian London, and the offices of Ebenezer Scrooge. Scrooge’s business partner is dead, and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future have yet to arrive. The Metropolitan Police is in its infancy, and Constable Wilberforce Catchem is on his first murder case. Acting on a tip off he has come to question whether the death of Jacob Marley was by natural causes, or something more sinister. Meet Constable Catchem, Emily Cratchit, Augustus Perriwinkle and Scrooge himself in our Victorian festive Murder Mystery.
- Who Killed Father Christmas? - 23 Dec 2017: It’s Christmas at Camberwick Toys, one of the few remaining large independent toy shops. Their loyal customers love the traditional values of the shop, and this is never more apparent than at Christmas when their award winning Christmas Grotto draws in huge crowds. There is a lot of competition for the auspicious role of Father Christmas, and when the winner of the competition for the role is murdered the investigation involves competitors, elves and even the management of the company. Who did kill Father Christmas?
