Blueberry Duo Collection including the following:
Pink Sapphire
- This unique new variety provides year-round colour and interest in the garden - not to mention deliciously sweet fruit with a lovely firm texture
- The pink-white, bell-shaped flowers provide plenty of spring interest, followed by pale green fruits in summer, which quickly become dappled with pale pink and finally ripen to a deep glossy pink colour
- As the autumn approaches, the leaves turn bright orange, fading to deep red, before falling to reveal a pretty framework of dusky red-brown winter branches
- As with all blueberry bushes, ‘Pink Sapphire’™ is self-fertile but will produce a bigger crop if a second blueberry plant is present as a pollinator
- At maturity expect a height and spread up to 150cm (59.1in)
- Supplied as a pot grown plant in a 9cm nursery pot
Powder Blue
- Blueberry ‘Powder Blue’ is an ideal addition to patio containers or acidic borders
- A mid to late season variety that produces an abundance of juicy berries in late summer
- Clusters of white, bell-shaped flowers in spring are followed by fiery red foliage in the autumn
- A hardy shrub for seasonal interest in the garden
- At maturity expect a height and spread of 2.5m (8’)
- Supplied as a pot grown plant in a 9cm nursery pot
- For the best crops it is recommended to grow alongside the blueberry ‘Pink Sapphire’™ to benefit from increased cross-pollination and ensure even larger yields of blueberries
- Blueberries require well-drained, acid soil in a sunny or semi-shaded position
-
In areas where acid soil does not naturally occur, grow blueberry plants in patio containers using a mix of ericaceous compost and John Innes No. 3
- Each pack consists of ‘Pink Sapphire’™ and ‘Powder Blue’ blueberry plants
