Calamity Jane

Calamity Jane is brought to the stage once again as this new production arrives at Assembly Theatre. Originally staged in 1961, the musical dramatises the life of American folk hero Martha Jane Cannary, renowned sharpshooter and keen self-mythologiser. The musical was later adapted into a 1953 film which won an Oscar for its score. Audience members can expect to hear The Black Hills of Dakota, Just Blew in From the Windy City and many other enduring songs. The cast of this production includes Jodie Prenger, who previously starred in productions of both Oliver! and Spamalot, and Tom Lister, a previous long-term cast member of Emmerdale.
