Choice of Family Show

This season Babbacombe Theatre opens its doors to three interactive family shows. A two-part Jimmy Tamley Family Laughter Show will feature an array of wild and wacky animal characters, as well as Jimmy’s comedy classics including Lightening Les, the underweight boxing champion of the world, Grandad, alongside Charlie Baby, Knuckles the Biker, and Louie the Blues. With his vocal comedy skills and characterisation, Jimmy continually challenges the perception of the art of ventriloquism, presenting a lively entertainment for the entire family. On the other hand, Westend at the Movies is a new musical show produced and directed by Colin Matthews with the choreography of Sadie Oliver and musical arrangements of Pete Leonard. Alongside Andy Oakley as host, the event will feature dream girl, Lisa T, Stars in their Eyes songstress, Debbie Farrell, international vocalist Jodie Cooper, as well as actor and seasoned performer, Darren Lake, Barry Elmer and Luke Sampson. They are joined by the event’s special guest, Lily Laight who appeared with the original cast of Matilda on London’s West End, on TV in Doc Martin and in 2014 hit the headlines worldwide when the film, Love Rosie went on release. The third entertainment show, Starshine, featuring an array of energetic dancers and powerful vocalists delivering dynamic songs, presents highlights from popular films, as well as tributes to some of the most iconic pop stars, such as Michael Jackson. With Ben Nickless as the headlining act, the performers’ list includes West End vocalist Paul Cobley, the much-travelled songstress, Becky Bennett, alongside this season’s newcomers David Arnold, the loveable Welshman, and international illusionist, Matricks, AKA, Alexander Jesson.
