Echoes and Innovations: May 1st 6.30pm - James Orford
A recital marking the 80th year since the end of WWII, hoping to tie this in to the cathedral's other events marking 80 years. The music featured will include works by William Walton, Elsa Barreine, Siegfried Würzburger, Jehan Alain, and Maurice Duruflé. James Orford is the new Organist at St Paul's where he is the principal accompanist for the cathedral's many services and events.
Echoes and Innovations: June 5th 6.30pm - Franz Danksagmüller
With his innovative projects, exceptional organ improvisations and live electronics performances, composer and organist Franz Danksagmüller is considered one of the most creative minds in the international concert scene. In this recital, the organ will be combined with live electronics, including the organist scanning his own brainwaves to create sound.
July 3rd 6.30pm - Sarah Kim
Based in Paris, Sarah Kim is one of the most exciting organists of her generation. She has won numerous competitions, including the Sydney, Newcastle, and Paris International Organ Competitions, and has performed all over the world in such venues as Notre Dame, Westminster Abbey, and the Berlin Philharmonie.
August 7th 6.30pm - Isabelle Demers
Described as being “fearless and extraordinary” (Amarillo-Globe News), Dr Isabelle Demers is in high demand the world over as a concert organist and teacher and has won numerous awards for her playing and her recordings. She is now the Associate Professor of Organ at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
September 4th 6.30pm - David Briggs
Known for his unbridled virtuosity and passion for making organ music vibrant and accessible to a wide and diverse audience, David is one of the most sought-after concert organists of his generation. In this concert, he will be providing a silent film accompaniment for the 1929 film "King of Kings".
