Chinese Arts and Cultural Festival

Scotland China Chamber of Commerce is proud to present 2017 Chinese Arts and Culture Festival. 2047 Apologue, our featured stage performance directed by Zhang Yimou. Widely regarded as one of the world’s most talented directors, Zhang is well-known for directing the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The Tea Spell and Beyond Calligraphy features on unique Chinese elements produced by China Dancers Association. Chinese Cultural Quintessence is a Peking Opera presented by Wuhan Peking Opera Troupe. Chinese calligraphy, tea, handicraft exhibitions will be held throughout the whole event. Traditional folk dance, music performance and a rich collection of Chinese artworks will also be included.

This August, authentic art forms of ancient Chinese culture will be showcased in all their glory at the Chinese Arts and Cultural Festival. In the afternoon, attendees will have a chance to learn how to write Chinese calligraphy, see a variety of craft shows, as well as listen to Peking Opera by Hubei Peking Opera Troupe. The performances will be accompanied by displays of traditional handicrafts and painting. All performances will be in Chinese.
