Verdi’s Falstaff
This July, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra ends the season with Concert performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s jocular opera Falstaff. The playful re-imagining of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor is considered to be one of the warmest and wisest comedies in all music. Conducted by Edward Gardner, the concert will be performed in Italian with English subtitles and a 20-minute interval after Act 2.
