The Pharcyde
The Pharcyde is an alternative hip-hop ensemble hailing from California. Their debut, Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde, left a mark on the early 90s musical landscape, with tunes such as Passin’ Me By, Ya Mama, Soul Flower, or Otha Fish, all now considered classics. Their 1996 album, Labcabincalifornia, included hit singles Runnin and Drop, the latter of which came with a memorable video by Spike Jonze, who was just about to become a star film director. The group is currently enjoying a return to form, following enthusiastic response to their reunion in 2012.
