As You Like It
This August, The Riverside Players present As You Like It. Considered to be one of Shakespeare’s most thoughtful comedies, the play follows the adventures of young Rosalind as she flees to the forest of Arden to escape prosecution at her uncle’s court. In the wilderness, she encounters a host of colourful characters such as traveller Jacques, who utters one of the playwright’s most notable speeches, All the World’s a Stage. The audience at Rendcomb College will have a chance to watch the spectacle while enjoying an outdoor picnic, with seating provided and blankets available for hire.
