The Event

The Great British Food Festival serves up a tasty menu of exhibitors and activities for all ages as it comes to the picturesque grounds of Hardwick Hall this May. Pairs (usually up to £6.50 per person) or families of up to two adults and two children aged 12 or younger (£15) can browse stalls showcasing everything from cheeses, sauces and fresh fruit juices to barbecue and international specialities. The day also encompasses a selection of live chef demos, a visitor’s ‘Cake-Off’ baking competition, cocktail-making demonstrations and a men v. food competition. Live music builds atmosphere throughout the event, and the kids’ corner contains an array of fairground rides and activities for little ones. At the end of the day, guests leave with a recipe booklet (£3) and inspiration for new dishes from the foodie community.
