About Hellfire Caves
Excavated to provide a meeting place for the club of an 18th-century aristocrat, West Wycombe's Hellfire Caves are now a site of historical fascination and a purported haunt for paranormal revellers. Over a quarter of a mile of winding underground passages links subterranean chambers that can be entered through the eerie façade of a mock-Gothic church. On selected dates, the attraction invites little ones to a host of special events, including a school of witchcraft and children's parties. Brave adults can tag along on a paranormal investigation, using a variety of equipment to detect supernatural phenomena deep inside the caves.
