Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a medical treatment used in various specialties. It involves extracting a small amount of the patient's blood and then processing it in a centrifuge to separate the plasma, which contains a concentrated amount of platelets, from other blood components.

Platelets are blood cells that contain growth factors and other proteins involved in tissue repair and regeneration. By concentrating these platelets and injecting them into the skin or scalp, PRP therapy aims to stimulate the body's natural healing processes and promote tissue repair and hair regrowth on the scalp.

Is there any aftercare required?

There is minimal downtime involved. Some patients may experience mild redness or swelling of the treated area which quickly resolves though you may be advised to avoid strenuous activities or exercises briefly. For those receiving scalp treatments, the hair can usually be washed after treatment is completed.
