Wellies can be donned as an adult (£6.50) and child (£5.50) or families of four (usually £22.50) explore an open farm. Visitors can become acquainted with animal residents, and even treat them to nibbles from a bag of feed for a £1 supplement. Kids can roam the beams and bridges of the adventure playground, or speed around the go-kart track. Pony rides are available for a £2 a go. Adults can take it easy in the tea room or browse the gift shop. Families of up to four can also opt to return for repeat visits with a season ticket valid until mid-April.

The Merchant

Matlock Farm Park is home to an array of animals including llamas, goats, meerkats, rabbits, turkeys and peacocks. An adventure playground boasts slides and other climbable obstacles, and a go-kart track keeps budding drivers entertained. The park also features a riding school and classroom facilities. An on-site cafe plies meals and refreshments, and fresh eggs are available on site.
