Day 1: Arrival in Chicago
Arrival at Chicago Airport. Pick-up your rental vehicle. Known as the 'Windy City', Chicago is famous for its stunning architecture, iconic skyline, and rich cultural diversity. Situated on the shores of Lake Michigan, it boasts a world-class culinary scene, renowned museums such as the Art Institute of Chicago, and a deeply rooted sporting culture.

Day 2: Chicago
Continue with a visit to Chicago's most iconic landmarks, such as the Cloud Gate Sculpture (The Bean) in Millennium Park and the Skydeck Chicago Observatory on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower, with its glass balcony. And finally, discover the Centennial Wheel at Navy Pier.

Day 3: St Louis
Morning departure for the legendary Route 66. In McLean, stop off at the Dixie Truckers Home, a perfect opportunity to admire some superb American trucks. Stop off in Springfield, the capital of Illinois, a city dedicated entirely to the legacy of Abraham Lincoln, who lived there. In particular, you will have the opportunity to visit his home. St Louis has long been a major river port, rail hub, and industrial centre. It was once one of the largest cities west of New York. Don't miss the iconic Gateway Arch, the tallest man-made monument in the United States.

Day 4: Springfield
Drive through the rolling hills of Missouri to Springfield. This vibrant city nestled in the Ozarks is known for its scenic beauty, rich history, and welcoming community. Visit the adobe Palace of the Governors Built from mud, it is one of the country's oldest monuments. Stroll through the historic streets of old Santa Fe, and explore the Loretto Chapel or the O'Keefe Museum.

Day 9: Gallup
Head for Albulquerque. Don't forget to stop off at the Petroglyph National Monument to admire the desert landscape. You can also visit Acoma Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest inhabited communities in the United States. Stop off at the El Malpais National Monument, where you'll find unique volcanic landscapes.

Day 10: Flagstaff
Explore Gallup, with its rich Native American culture and art galleries. Discover the Petrified Forest. This site is the result of a long process: silica crystallised into quartz, preserving tree trunks in the form of petrified wood. Part of the park, the Painted Desert, is a vast arid area dotted with buttes and mesas.

Day 11: Kingman
This morning, you'll head for the Grand Canyon, a superb geological phenomenon. This will certainly be one of the highlights of your trip. Walk along the southern edge to see one of the most beautiful and most impressive wonders of the world. The Grand Canyon is the result of millions of years of erosion by wind and water. It has an infinite range of shapes, colours, and mysterious shadows. The Colorado River flows for more than a kilometre below the canyon rim.

Day 12: Las Vegas
After the peace and quiet of the parks, expect a complete change of scenery when you arrive in Vegas. A lost oasis in the Nevada desert, Las Vegas is a city of excess, where luxury and entertainment know no bounds.

Morning drive through the Mojave National Reserve. Impressive forests of Joshua Trees, with their distinctive shape, cover many parts of the reserve. The Cima Dome and Shadow Valley forests are among the largest in the world.

Your stay includes the hire of an intermediate category 5-seater car.
The vehicle will be an ICAR Toyota Corolla (or similar category).
Pick-up of the vehicle on day 1 at Chicago Airport and return of the vehicle on day 16 at Los Angeles Airport.

DRIVING LICENCE:
A national driving licence valid for at least the past 2 years is required.

For your information: You can purchase the America The Beautiful Pass on site, worth around 80 USD. It grants access to certain national parks for all passengers in the same vehicle. If you are travelling in a group with several vehicles, you will need to buy as many passes as you have cars. You can purchase your pass at the entrance to the first park you visit or at the park visitor centre. Please note that the pass will not be valid for certain parks such as Monument Valley, Antelope Canyon, and parks managed by the Navajo Indians. In this case, you will be asked to pay a specific entry fee upon arrival.
Some hotels may apply a service charge to be paid on site at check-out.

Good to know
If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room.
