Follow in the footsteps of Corto Maltese and the Order of Knights on this small Mediterranean island with an incredibly rich and varied past, and enjoy a few days in the countryside or by the sea on the small island of Gozo!
Your detailed itinerary
DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN MALTA
Flight to Valletta. On arrival, pick up your car hire and drive to your hotel in Malta for a stay of 4 nights.
Please be advised that a supplementary charge of approximately €26 will be applied for vehicle collection outside of opening hours (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.), excess waiver, additional driver, any optional extras are to be paid locally.
Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 2 - VALLETTA – SAN ANTON
Suggested visits and stop-offs: Valletta, the island's capital, the Upper Barracca Gardens with their stunning views of the harbour and the Three Cities, the Palace of the Grand Masters, St John's Cathedral, a true masterpiece of Baroque art, the National Museum of Archaeology and the Manoel Theatre. You can end your day with a visit to the San Anton Botanical Gardens.

DAY 3 - MDINA - RABAT - MOSTA - DINGLI CAVES - TA'QALI
Suggested visits and stop-offs: Mdina, the ancient capital located in the heart of the island - perched on a rocky outcrop and surrounded by ramparts - including its narrow streets lined with beautiful stately homes, its baroque churches, its convents, and palaces. The catacombs and St Paul's Grotto in Rabat, where the apostle is said to have preached the gospel, followed by the neoclassical church of Mosta, dominated by an impressive 66-metre high dome. The cliffs of Dingli and the village of Ta'Qali, where the craftsmen reveal the secrets of their work.

DAY 4 - MARSAXLOKK – THE BLUE GROTTO
Suggested visits and stop-offs: the south of the island to discover the fishing village of Marsaxlokk where you can photograph the "luzzu"; brightly painted boats featuring the typical lucky eye on the bow, the Mamo Tower at Marsaskala; a fortified residence unique to Malta, the Megalithic Temples of Tarxien; the largest prehistoric complex in Malta, and the Blue Grotto.

DAY 5 - MALTA – GOZO
The itinerary for today will take you to Cirkewwa, situated in the north of the island. This is the port from which you will embark for Mgarr on the island of Gozo (the crossing takes approximately 25 minutes by ferry). Settle into your hotel, where you will stay for 3 nights.
DAY 6 - GOZO
Suggested visits in Gozo: discover the capital city of Gozo, Victoria, and its citadel, the two megalithic temples of Ggantija, or the bay of Xlendi. Overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 7 - GOZO
Suggested visits in Gozo: take advantage of your stay in Gozo to relax by the sea or explore the island's inland regions.
DAY 8 - GOZO - MALTA - DEPARTURE
Departure to Malta by ferry from the port of Mgarr. Drop off your vehicle at Malta Airport and board your flight home.

Accommodation in a Standard Room with breakfast for 4 nights in Malta at the 4-star Hotel Soreda and for 3 nights in Gozo at the 4-star Hotel St Patrick (hotels as listed or equivalent).

CAR HIRE

Vehicle pick-up and return:
- You must be able to provide your passport
- You must be able to produce a valid driving licence and keep it on you during your stay
- Pickup and return at Malta Airport
- Surcharge of approximately €30 for handing in or returning the car outside the following times: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
NOTE: The main driver's full name must be provided in order to hire a vehicle. Any change or modification in the name of the main driver after confirmation will incur an administration fee (please read all the information concerning car hire).
Good to know
If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.

Transportation

In order to best organise your time in the airport, we advise that you arrive 2 hours before boarding for a medium-haul flight, or 3 hours before boarding for a long-haul flight (more than 5 hours). Take advantage of your early arrival to pass through security and check your luggage.

Depending on the flight schedule, some arrivals or returns may be made at night with early arrival or late departure. You will not always be able to have your room available immediately and will need to refer to the check-in and check-out conditions of the hotel.

IDENTITY
Please be sure to verify that your necessary Identification documents (passport and/or ID card dependent upon the country to which you will be travelling) have valid expiration dates, i.e. verify your ID documents have not yet expired. Also, be sure to remember to bring these necessary documents with you. It is also recommended to make copies of all travel documents in the event of an emergency.
