DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN MONTREAL

Arrive at Montreal airport and ** pick up your rental car** Welcome to Canada!

Montreal is the second largest French-speaking city after Paris: a city of contrasts, with its historic Old Port and modern downtown. Explore the historic district of Old Montreal, called Ville Marie by the first settlers, the most charming part of the city. You'll have the chance to visit the famous Place Jacques Cartier and the magnificent Hôtel de Ville.

Continue downtown and don't miss the Place Ville Marie observatory, with its unique view of the city 185 meters above ground, and another of the city's special features: an underground network of cafés, restaurants and boutiques.

No meal. Overnight in Montreal.

DAY 2: MONTREAL

Two other districts are particularly recommended: the Quartier Latin and Mont Royal, with its Basilica of St. Joseph's Oratory and its park, a magnificent 200-hectare urban green space.

If you still have time, we recommend a visit to the Olympic Park, where you can enjoy a tour of the botanical garden, the Biodôme, the Olympic Stadium or the Insectarium.

Suggested excursions : Guided tour of Old Montreal, Place Ville Marie Observatory, guided tour of Mount Royal Park.

No meals. Overnight in Montreal.

DAY 3: QUEBEC

Quebec City is the capital of the province of Quebec and the oldest city in Canada. Behind its high stone walls, admire the star-shaped citadel and the impressive fortifications. Stop by the Parliament building before exploring the Old Port, Place Royale and Petit-Champlain. A lunch or dinner in a traditional sugar shack is highly recommended. You will have the chance to discover the traditional art of making maple syrup, before enjoying a memorable meal!

Distance to destination: 255 km

No meal. Overnight stay in Quebec City.

DAY 4: QUEBEC

Don't miss a visit to the impressive Montmorency Falls, a natural wonder higher than Niagara Falls. If you're not afraid of heights, you can even zip-line across them for an exceptional souvenir.

Suggested excursions : Guided tour of Old Quebec, Montmorency Falls, Jacques-Cartier National Park.

No meals. Overnight in Quebec City.

DAY 5: LAC SAINT JEAN

Now head for Jacques-Cartier National Park. The park is home to a beautiful glacial valley, the Vallée de Jacques-Cartier, a spectacular 600-metre-deep channel through which meanders one of Quebec's most beautiful rivers.

It's a nature-lover's paradise where you can observe wildlife such as moose, caribou, deer, wolves, foxes, river otters and black bears. We recommend a trip in a traditional rabaska canoe.

Then explore the magnificent Parc national du fjord du Saguenay, a natural wonder with 100 kilometers of hiking trails to admire this unspoiled region.

Distance to destination: 290 km

No meals. Overnight at Lac Saint Jean.

DAY 6: LAC SAINT JEAN

If you want to continue exploring the world of wildlife, the Zoo sauvage de St-Félicien is the place for you. With 4.5 km of pedestrian walkway, 90 species and 1,000 animals, it's one of Canada's largest zoos.

Now it's time to step back in time with a visit to the historic village of Val Jalbert. A veritable open-air museum, Val Jalbert is a reconstruction of a village from the 1920s. It's a unique opportunity to experience life in the last century, thanks to a fascinating tour punctuated by immersive live shows.

Suggested excursions : Guided tour of the historic village of Val Jalbert, St Félicien zoo

No meal. Overnight at Lac Saint Jean.

DAY 7: MAURICIE

La Mauricie National Park is a wilderness located in one of the world's oldest mountain ranges, the southern Laurentians, on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. With 150 lakes and 536 km2 of forests inhabited by wild animals, it's an exceptionally well-preserved area. A wide range of activities are on offer, including kayaking, canoeing, swimming and hiking.

Distance to destination: 350 km

No meals. Overnight in Mauricie.

DAY 8: MAURICIE

We recommend a guided tour with a professional guide to see black bears in their natural habitat, or a seaplane excursion to discover the natural beauty of the park from the air.

Islands vary in size, from over 100 km2 to tiny parcels of land occupied by a single small cabin. For shoppers, take a stroll down Bloor Street, Toronto's and Canada's most famous shopping district.
