Your detailed itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL DENPASAR - UBUD (31 MILES - 2 HOURS)
Arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, the capital of Bali, "the island of 1,000 temples". Meet your guide for the transfer to your hotel in the Ubud area and check-in. Ubud, geographically located in the heart of the island, is known as Bali's artistic centre and is home to many famous artists, both local and foreign. The village's appeal is enhanced by its artistic heritage, particularly in the form of local painting. This contributes to a relaxed ambience that pervades the area.
Overnight stay in Ubud.
DAY 2: UBUD (47 MILES - 3 HOURS)
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, depart from your hotel to visit the Gunung Kawi Temple in the village of Tampak Siring, an archaeological complex carved out of living rock and dating back to the 11th century. The temple offers a magnificent view of the green forests. There is a path (about 315 stone steps) leading up to the temple through spectacular rice field terraces.
Continue on to the temple of Tirta Empul, famous for its holy water, which has attracted Balinese devotees for over 1,000 years. Here you'll find a natural spring water pool with ancient Balinese motifs.
Climb to Kintamani for spectacular views of Lake Batur and its volcano, Mount Batur. Although Mount Batur (1,412 m) is not Bali's highest volcano, it is the most active and is surrounded by an impressive caldera. Lunch is served while enjoying this magnificent panoramic view.
Continue with a visit to the ancient World Heritage Site, the Elephant Cave - a sanctuary built in the 9th century. This remarkable cave, historically used for spiritual meditation, offers a glimpse into the sacred traditions of the past. Return to your hotel in Ubud.
Overnight stay in Ubud.
DAY 3: UBUD (93 MILES - 6 HOURS)
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, head west to explore the Tabanan Regency, known for its natural beauty. Arrive at Jatiluwih, a picturesque rice paddy, before the crowds appear. On account of the Subak irrigation system, UNESCO has listed this site as a World Heritage Site since 2012. Next, head for Bedugul. Before you arrive, stop off at Candikuning, a colourful local market selling fresh fruit and vegetables, spices, and exotic flowers.
This will be followed by lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the magnificent Temple of Ulun Danu, a magnificent water temple renowned for its serene beauty and cultural significance. Return to your vehicle to visit Alas Kedaton, a small forest inhabited by hundreds of monkeys. Continue with a visit to Bali's most famous site, the temple of Tanah Lot, set on a barren volcanic rock on the ocean. At the end of the day, return to your hotel in Ubud.
Overnight stay in Ubud.
DAY 4: UBUD - LEGIAN (46 MILES - 3 HOURS)
In the morning, meet your local professional guide for a transfer to the village of Guliang Kawan in central Bali. A warm welcome from the villagers awaits. Try a simple Balinese breakfast in a local house, served with tea or coffee.
Afterwards, enjoy a rural activity offering the chance to stroll through the streets of the village to discover the daily life of the Balinese and see how they devote themselves to God. Learn the art of making the beautiful Balinese Canang Sari, the Balinese Hindu daily offering, a symbol of gratitude to God, and admire how the elderly Balinese make palm wine, known locally as tuak. Take the chance to sample this popular local alcoholic beverage (included).
Continue on to the blacksmith's house and see how they make traditional Balinese tools. Then head to the next house along, where you'll see a Balinese man making the traditional hat commonly used by farmers. Then discover how the farmers work in the rice paddies! You will learn how to plant, transplant, or harvest rice (depending on the season) and, at the same time, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Subak, the traditional Balinese irrigation system that is a sustainable form of agriculture recognised by UNESCO.
A delicious lunch is served in a hut overlooking the rice paddies. Continue with a visit to Penglipuran, a traditional village that still preserves its traditional Balinese architecture. The typically Balinese entrances line on either side of the village road. Transfer to your next hotel in Seminyak. Check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Overnight stay in Legian.
DAY 6: LEGIAN (28 MILES - 2 HOURS)
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a free morning. In the afternoon, drive to Uluwatu, a beautiful sacred temple at the southern tip of Bali - an exquisite monument perched above the sea. The temple and its surroundings are home to hundreds of monkeys, regarded by locals as the temple's guardians. Then enjoy Bali's best sunset experience, Kecak, the island's most popular dance show. With the golden sunset as a backdrop, the songs of the Balinese performers fill the air, creating a magical atmosphere. The show tells the story of the eternal love between Rama and Shinta. After the show, transfer to your hotel.
Overnight stay in Legian.
DAY 7: LEGIAN - SENGGIGI (87 MILES - 2.5 HOURS)

Transfer to the idyllic beach of Selong Belanak, in southern Lombok, less than two hours' drive from Senggigi. Pass through beautiful winding roads with their numerous green tobacco farms and dry hills. Take advantage of this moment of relaxation to swim, bask in the sun, or try your hand at surfing.
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. If you stay until the afternoon, you'll be treated to a magnificent view of the buffalo congregating along the beach: the perfect time to take out your camera. Transfer back to your hotel.
Overnight stay at Senggigi.
DAY 9: SENGGIGI - GILI TRAWANGAN (18.6 MILES - 1 HOUR 25 MINS)

This island remains the best place for clear-water diving, with its colourful coral reef providing a natural habitat for hundreds of varieties of tropical fish. Continue on to Gili Meno, with its delicate coral. Here you can lie on the beach and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. The final visit before returning to the main island of Lombok is Gili Air. Another paradise for snorkelers. Transfer back to Gili Trawangan to your hotel.
