DAY 1 | Heraklion
Arrival in Heraklion.
Pick up your welcome documents and vehicle at "Travel Sweety" counter 4, outside the arrivals hall.
Free time to explore on your own.
Heraklion, the capital of the island and the gateway, is a city filled with nightlife, with dozens of bars, restaurants and nightclubs that give the city its reputation. Visit the port, the Venetian ramparts, the archaeological museum, the historical and ethnographic museum and the ruins of Knossos a few kilometres away.

DAY 2 | Heraklion
Breakfast at the hotel.
Lunch and free day to explore on your own.
Today, hit the road for the city of Heraklion and its archaeological museum (a unique collection of antiquities dating from the Neolithic period to Roman times). You can then visit the site of Knossos, a fabulous vestige of the Minoan era.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 3 | Heraklion - Rethymnon region
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for Réthymnon.
On the way, you can stop off at the village of Fodele, then visit the Arkadi monastery and the village of Margarites.

DAY 4 | Rethymnon - Chania - Rethymnon
Breakfast at the hotel.
Lunch and free day to explore on your own.
Chania, the city where the atmosphere of a Venetian city is best reflected in its old houses and ramparts surrounding the old port. You will have the chance to visit the area around Chania with its typical villages, the Akrotiri peninsula, and the monastery of Agia Triada.

DAY 5 | Discovering the south of Crete
Breakfast at the hotel.
Lunch and free day to explore on your own.
Today, we set off for a day exploring the south of Crete. Take the road down to Timbaki via the village of Spili and visit the Minoan palace of Festos, followed by the site of Gortys. Continue on to the fishing village of Matala. On the way back to Rethymnon, you can visit the superb monastery of Preveli.

DAY 6 | Rethymnon - Agios Nikolaos - Lassithi - Spinalonga
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for a visit to the Lassithi plateau, situated to the south of Malia at an altitude of around 850 m. Discover this place famous for its 10,000 small windmills, its picturesque little roads, and the beautiful landscapes it offers of a more rural Crete, amidst snow-capped peaks that remain until late spring.
Stop off in the surrounding villages and at the Dicti cave, a famous place of worship.
Continue on to the picturesque village of Krista, famous for its embroidery and its Byzantine chapel.
Drive to Agios Nikolaos.

DAY 7 | Agios Nikolaos - Sitia - Agios Nikolaos

Lunch and free day to explore on your own.
Departure for the port of Sitia to visit the sandy beach of Vai and its famous palm grove.
Then drive to the monastery of Toplou in the far north-east of the island, known to be one of the richest on the island. According to the frescoes in the oldest part of the church, it was apparently built in the 14th century, but, according to some, its foundation could date back much further. The monastery flourished in the 15th century. It is a real fort but also a living museum of the **monastic history of Crete. For reasons of space-saving but also safety, the cells are built on three floors.

DAY 8 | Agios Nikolaos
Return your rental car to Heraklion Airport.

During your stay, you will be accommodated on a half-board basis according to the itinerary.

- Category B car hire for 2-3 people (exception: category A from 13/08 to 15/09) and category C for 4-5 people for the duration of the stay (subject to availability).

- The minimum age for drivers is 21 and the maximum is 70.
- The driver must have held a driving licence for at least 1 year
- A supplement of approximately €25 is payable directly to the hire company if the vehicle is collected or returned between 9 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.
- You must be in possession of a credit card in order to collect the vehicle (debit cards not accepted).

Good to know
If you are travelling alone, you will be asked to pay a surcharge for a single room. This additional charge will be automatically included in your quote.Child rates will be applied for children from 2 to 12 years old in the case where the child shares the room with two adults. If the child is travelling with just one adult, the surcharge may be applied on an adult basis. If your child or children do not fit into the age group mentioned above, the rate will be communicated to you at the time of processing your order. If the room is equipped with a bunk bed, the bed height is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
