Children may alternatively opt for a laser tag party to take to a futuristic maze lit with fluorescent lights and try out their shooting skills. Both party types last for up to 90 minutes and include a briefing and two 20-minute games. Guests can fuel up on a finger buffet and ice cream and stay refreshed with juice. Organisers may choose to upgrade to a different party plan for £25.

The Merchant
Pirate Pete’s offers a swashbuckling array of children’s activities on Ayr’s seafront esplanade. The soft play area features a variety of padded, brightly coloured obstacles while a maze-like laser tag zone caters for sharp-shooters. Outdoors, the site boasts a nine-hole crazy golf course and a fun fair. The centre offers meals and refreshments at a cafe and plays host to parties throughout the year.
