About This Deal
The Railway
Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway is a World Heritage Site at the edge of the Brecon Beacons. The two-mile stretch of track was constructed in the 19th century and was initially used to transport coal from the surrounding mines. Journeys start at Furnace Sidings and take passengers over 3 miles of line to three other stations on a nostalgic, steam-powered journey through the panoramas of rural Torfaen. Visitors can also make use of the tea room, gift shop and free parking at Furnace Sidings, and many trains also offer a buffet car serving light refreshments.
