About Priory Maze & Gardens
Created on a ten-acre plot over the last 15 years, Priory Maze and Gardens welcomes visitors with a collection of themed landcapes. The gardens boast a variety of plants and landscape styles that, in turn, support a diverse range of wildlife, ranging from the seasonal Winter Garden to streams and herb gardens. The asymmetrical maze is based on the remains of the 13th-Century Beeston Priory that sits next to the site, with different-coloured hedges mimicking the footprint of the ruin's walls. The spaces between are filled with all manner of dead ends and turns, as well as a viewing platform located roughly where the cloister would have been in relation to the original building's design.
