The Deal

Discerning diners can take their pick of two courses (usually £15.90 each) from the ‘In the week’ menu at Silversmith’s. The menu changes seasonally but starters may include the likes of chilled heritage tomato soup, or lemon and parsley cured salmon. Mains might include dishes such as the 16-hour braised lamb breast or homemade pork burger, while afters can be alternatively chosen, and come in the form of dark chocolate tart. Meals will begin with an amuse bouche (£3.50), and will be accompanied with a glass of Prosecco (£5) each. Guests will also receive a palate cleansing sorbet (£3.50) between courses. An upgrade to a three-course meal is available for £3 extra per person.

The Merchant

Relaunched following a transformational visit from Gordon Ramsay in 2009, Silversmiths restaurant is an eatery owned and run by Justin Rowntree. The chefs use Yorkshire-based suppliers to create a traditional British menu that changes daily depending on the fresh produce available.

Silversmith has scored an appetising 4/5 stars on TripAdvisor and was the winner of Best Use of Local Produce on a Hotel or Restaurant menu at the Deliciously Yorkshire Awards 2013. It was also runner up in the Best Restaurant and Best Cheap Eats categories at the Observer Food Monthly Awards 2013.
