What is sports massage?
Sports massage is not only for athletes or sportspeople, anyone can benefit from the treatment. Sports massage is mainly used for improving short and long-term injuries. The therapist will use specialist techniques to manipulate the injured muscles and tendons to restore their integrity.

What happens at the session?

How does sports massage work?
It can help to soften the superficial and deep muscle fibres by using different strokes such as ‘effleurage’ which targets the superficial layer increases muscle temperature and increase flexibility. ‘Petrissage’ stimulates blood flow and removes metabolic waste. ‘Deep-friction’ massage targets the deeper muscles to reduce inflammation, promotes greater nerve activity and breaks down scar tissue.
