The Deal

Beginners’ lessons take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 9.30am and 2pm and on Wednesdays at 4.30pm, while intermediate lessons are on Saturdays and Sundays at 10.30am, and advanced lessons Saturdays and Sundays 11.30am, 3pm and Mondays at 4.30pm. Each session is one hour long and all equipment is provided. Those who are comfortable in their seat and transitions can also have the opportunity to go out hacking.

Choose from the following options for a one-hour horse riding lesson:

• £9 for one child (53% off)

• £10 for one adult (50% off)

The Merchant

St Leonards is a family-run riding school established 60 years ago, saddling up would-be equestrians of all ages and abilities. Set in 60 acres of fields, the school offers progressive instruction in all manner of disciplines, such as flatwork, showjumping and hacking. Their newly-resurfaced paddock plays host to most of the lessons, while a canteen and covered spectators’ area keeps onlooking parents and friends in the warm and dry.
