- Fruit can be ideal to eat fresh or as a part of a dessert
- Winter-hardy and easy to grow
- Supplied as bare-root plants, ideal for planting straight away
- Best to plant the bare roots in autumn
- Choose a sheltered, sunny position in well-drained compost
- Spread out their roots and place them in the soil at a level where the crown of the plant is just poking above the surface
- Planting too deeply may cause them to rot
- At maturity expect a height of 20cm (8in) and a spread of 30cm (12in)
