The Tameside Canal Boat Trust team takes pride in their narrowboat, Still Waters. Departing daily from Portland Basin, the boat is mainly operated by volunteers and offers 45 seats. Still Waters can be hired by schools and groups to enjoy picturesque canal views while cruising along the tranquil waters.

Valid until 28/09/2025. Persons under 18 must be accompanied by guardian. 72-hour cancellation notice required. Appointment required, contact by phone at 07914 815636; provide Groupon code. Present Groupon on arrival. Must provide Security code when booking and show on arrival. Subject to availability due to the service being offered by volunteers. Children are classed as aged 2-16. Under 2s go free of charge. Must be fit enough to get on and off the boat. Boat has disabled access and seats 45 people per trip. Please inform if disabled access is needed. Maximum 45 people per journey. Approx 40 minutes duration unless stated as 1.5 or 2 hours. The boat is dog-friendly. Bring your own alcohol or food on board for the journey.
